This page allows you to download all of the logos used by The Layton Companies. The logos are divided into two file types: Vector and Rastarized. If you don't know which format you need, you'll probably be safe with the rastarized versions. What's the difference? It would take a lengthy bit of text to expain, but here's a crash course:
Vector Logos: These files can be scaled indefinitely without any loss of clarity or resolution. They are also color-accurate, relying on the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to maintain color fidelity. This file type is used for silk-screening, offset press printing, stitched clothing, vehicle graphics, and other tangible applications. Nearly all logos world-wide are created in a Vector environment, however, they are then saved as a Rastarized version to be compatible with standard uses. Most computers do not have the ability to open and modify a vector file. The few software types that can access it are CAD programs and Adobe Illustrator.
Rastarized Logos: These files are created at set-resolutions, optimized for use in places like websites, spreadsheets, Power Point presentations, and other digital media (non-tangible applications). If you scale them larger than intended, they will look blurry. Also, their color may vary slightly from application to application. This file type is much more universal, and you'll see it represented in file suffixes such as .jpg, .gif, .tif, .png.
Style Guides: Like most companies, we have strict guidelines governing the use of our logos. We have created helpful styleguides to describe these standards. As owners of all Layton logos, we have the right to challenge and rebuke any usage found in violation of our standards. The following links are PDF files containing these standards.
