Phase 2 of the South Towne Corporate Center involved creating an identical building to the already standing 6 story office building that was Phase 1. These office building are an investment for Workers Compensation Fund, and all of the square footage in Phase 2 is leased to tenants.

Safety was a particular hot button issue for this client, and Layton was able to deliver the project injury-free. In addition to our own high safety standards, which included maintaining full-time facility safety manager on site, a WCF safety representative made weekly inspections of the jobsite.

There is a great deal of interconnectivity between Phase 2 and the existing building, consisting of conduit raceways, etc. Additionally, the building energy management and control systems in Phase 2 are state of the art.

Despite challenges with labor and materials availability and weather conditions, the project was completed on schedule and within budget. Layton maintained a safe and highly organized site with well-planned deliveries, coordinated staging, and overall job site cleanliness.
Layton has completed all the projects on this site, including two buildings, a two-phase multi-level parking structure and various tenant improvements.
