The original Nauvoo Temple was destroyed by a tornado in 1850. The new temple is a replica of the old that mimics the period and design of the original structure.
Park City Museum

The original structure on historic Main Street once served as a jail for the early mining town, then later used as the volunteer fire department. Layton completed the substantial renovation and addition in 2009, enhancing the structural elements and preserving much of the original materials. The building will now be used as a museum to showcase historical artifacts and artwork.
Eagle Gate Apartment Complex

Designed to replicate the original, 19th century Eagle Gate Apartments of downtown Salt Lake City, this 10-story facility includes 96 luxury apartments, street-front retail space and a two-level underground parking structure.
Karl G. Maeser Memorial Building
Brigham Young University, Provo, UT
Originally built in 1911, the Karl G. Maeser Memorial Building has served as everything from the Student Army Corps barracks in World War War I to administrative offices and classrooms. Brigham Young University contracted with Layton to renovate the building.
The Assembly Hall Restoration
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Salt Lake City, UT
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contracted with Layton to restore the LDS Church Assembly Hall, originally constructed in 1877 on Temple Square. The renovation included seismic upgrades, restoring the original interior decorative elements and replacing the support structures.
