Intermountain Healthcare, in partnership with Cassia County, Idaho, moved out of an existing community hospital into a new 114,000 ft2 hospital and medical office building. Layton worked with the client to value engineer $2 million from the original competitive bid.

The facility includes 32 patient rooms, six ICU rooms, six LDRP rooms, four operating rooms, two X-ray rooms, one CAT Scan room and two ambulance garages. The medical office building includes facilities for 12 doctor’s offices with associated treatment, procedure and examination rooms.

The structure is steel framed with concrete shear walls and a four-inch lightweight concrete roof deck. Exterior treatment included a metal stud and EIFS system, standing seam metal roofs, glass curtain wall and clerestories.
