Nov. 10, 2008
The Mountain West Capital Network recently presented its annual Utah 100 Awards, honoring the state's top 100 fastest growing companies, the top 15 revenue growth companies and a select group of "Emerging Elite" businesses. Companies representing the construction, architectural and engineering industries were well-represented, proving that despite the economic pitfalls our country has faced this year, the need for new construction carries on in the state of Utah.
Layton ranks No. 7 on the list of Top Revenue companies for this year's awards, which are based on the growth of raw revenue dollars in a given year. Layton, a nationally-ranked commercial contractor, has had a record year in 2008, thanks to a number of large ongoing projects including the University Hospital Expansion project in Salt Lake City and Montage Deer Valley in Park City. Additionally, Layton has a strong backlog of work as a result of the company's recent efforts to diversify geographically by expanding into surrounding markets and diversify work into a variety of project types. Joining Layton among the top 15 revenue growth companies is SunRoc, ranked at No. 15.
Four construction-related companies were listed among the 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Utah, rankings that are based on the percentage growth of each company's revenues. RimRock Construction comes in at No. 51 on the list, while SunRoc makes another appearance in the Utah 100 Awards at No. 69. Cooper Roberts Simonsen Associates is ranked at No. 92 and Owell Precast is listed at No. 98.
Metro Ready Mix is listed as one of Utah's Emerging Elite companies.
