Layton Construction Co., Inc. has been awarded the contract to build a $22.5 million expansion to the West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyo. Johnson Johnson Crabtree Architects, based in Nashville, Tenn., will complete the facility's design. Layton will work alongside local Wyoming-based partner Cowan Construction Company to deliver the project.
The expansion will include a new emergency department, centralized registration, an imaging department and new second floor medical surgical patient rooms. The project is scheduled to break ground as early as November 2010. The expansion will significantly improve patient privacy and staff efficiencies and provide the region with local, high-quality healthcare well into the future.
Layton has become a national leader in healthcare construction and is currently ranked as the 23rd largest healthcare construction management company in the United States by Modern Healthcare magazine.
Layton Construction is a regional contractor with several recent projects in Wyoming, including the Campbell County Recreation Center, Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution and Pinedale Elementary School, which celebrated its grand opening this week. Layton is currently ranked No. 63 on ENR magazine's list of the Top 400 Contractors in the United States.
