A new Breast Care Center at Jordan Valley Medical Center in West Jordan, Utah officially opened with a grand opening celebration on May 26, 2011 that included a ribbon cutting ceremony and a ladies' night, complete with free manicures, pedicures and massages. Layton Construction Co., Inc. was the contractor for the project, which was designed by Architectural Nexus.
A former cath lab, the newly renovated Breast Care Center offers a full range of services in one location and provides access to a complete range of tests to evaluate breast symptoms, including MRI, ultrasound, stereotactic and other minimally invasive breast biopsies. In addition to medical care, the Breast Care Center will offer nutritional counseling, breast cancer support groups and networking for patients that are dealing with similar situations.
According to Bryanie Swilley, CEO of Jordan Valley Medical Center, having a comprehensive breast care center in a single location will bring peace of mind to patients and also facilitate an easier treatment process to patients who would otherwise face a web of outpatient medical services.
The aim of the Breast Care Center is to make treatment for breast health issues as comfortable and convenient as possible. The facility serves as a model project for the owner and features a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that feels more similar to a spa than a clinic.
Layton has completed several projects at Jordan Valley Medical Center over the years, including an expansion completed in 2010 that added more than 100,000 square feet of space to the hospital in addition to the renovation of existing hospital service areas to enable future growth. As part of the expansion, Layton also built-out a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that features state-of-the-art technology.
