New Portneuf Medical Center Announced
Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. announced plans today to construct the new Portneuf Medical Center at 777 Hospital Way in Pocatello, Idaho.
Layton Construction, headquartered in Sandy, Utah with regional offices in several states including Boise, Idaho, has been selected as construction manager and general contractor.
The new hospital will bring the highest levels of health care service to Pocatello to parallel the growth of the area and keep pace with the advances of health care technologies. The new hospital, larger than 300,000 square feet, will house 187 acute care beds, a 25-bed emergency department and 16 newborn intensive care (NICU) beds. Among a full range of health care services offered are cardiovascular, oncology, pediatrics, orthopedics, MRI, CT and nuclear medicine services.
"Legacy Hospital Partners, Inc. (LHP) is very pleased to announce that Layton Construction Company has received the contract to oversee the construction of the new Portneuf Medical Center. Construction will begin in June and we expect to open the facility in the summer of 2010. Layton has an excellent track record in building hospitals and everyone at LHP has great confidence in their ability to get the job done," said Ed Davidson, LHP Vice President of Construction and Design.
Layton Construction is also currently building health care facilities in Idaho in Idaho Falls and Gooding.
