Layton Breaks Ground on Major Expansion for Blendtec

April 2, 2011

Blendtec, one of the world's leading manufacturers of blending equipment that is widely known for its popular Will It Blend? Web campaign, is expanding its facilities in Orem, Utah. An official groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held on March 30, 2011. Layton Construction Co., Inc. will build the new facility, with Pasker Gould Ames and Weaver as architect for the project.

Blendtec's current facilities include 168,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space and administrative offices. The 100,000-square-foot expansion will primarily be used for the manufacturing and assembly of Blendtec's newest innovation, the Self Serve Smoothie Maker. The new facilities will also include a small medical clinic that will complement the company's existing fitness and massage center and full-time personal trainer.

The project is anticipated to be complete in October 2011.
