Utah Business Magazine Ranks The Layton Companies as Top Commercial Builder in Utah
In listings released in late February by Utah Business Magazine, The Layton Companies is ranked as the No. 1 commercial builder in Utah. The rankings are based on 2008 revenues.
Layton's total gross revenues neared $1 billion in 2008, thanks in large part to significant revenue increases in several of its key market segments, including a 27 percent increase in government projects, a 53 percent increase in the construction of educational facilities, a 196 percent increase in hospitality projects and a 250 percent increase in the construction of correctional facilities.
Notable projects Layton is currently working on include the expansion to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, a new high school for the Jordan School District in Herriman, the Montage Resort in Park City, the Uintah County Public Safety Complex in Vernal and the Karen H. Huntsman Library at Snow College in Ephraim.
